The Observatorio Turístico de Cuenca (Tourism Watchdog of Cuenca) is a project sponsored by the Fundación Turismo de Cuenca (Cuenca Tourism Foundation) in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
The project is a way to begin the rigorous process of research on tourist activity in the province of Cuenca by analyzing the socioeconomic profile of tourists as well as overseeing the potential of the tourism sector. The Watchdog analyzes tourism supply and demand in order to become truly familiar with the reality of the tourism situation in Cuenca and its evolution over time.

In addition to being a tool for statistical study, the Watchdog is a new instrument for action with regard to the reality of tourism in Cuenca. It analyzes the profile of tourists that visit us in order to ensure that their needs are met. It is our intention that this resource be useful for the tourism sector, making available the necessary data for the elaboration of commercial, marketing and promotional predictions and actions.
